Kolkata: ASHOK LEYLAND today launched a new variant of light commercial vehicle (LCV) in Kolkata to tap upper-end customers.
The new goods vehicle has been named by the company as ‘DOST+’, marking an upgrade over its flagship LCV ‘DOST’ that was launched in 2011 and has so far sold 1.7-lakh units.
Nitin Seth, president – LCV at Ashok Leyland, who was present at the Kolkata launch today said that the new ‘DOST+’ comes with 18 per cent higher payload, 7 per cent more loading space, and bigger 15-inch tyres.
“These features will add value to every trip undertaken and ensure higher earnings. Moreover, we have doubled the warranty on ‘DOST+’ ~ additional warranty for two years or 1-lakh km,” Seth said.
This new LCV from Ashok Leyland will address the upper-end of small commercial vehicle (SCV) segment in 2-3.5-ton gross vehicle weight segment and has a payload capacity of 1.475 ton. The ex-showroom starting price of the vehicle in Kolkata is Rs 5.45-lakh.
