Kolkata, 07 November: KOLKATA-headquartered Bandhan Bank today threw open a branch at Behala in Kolkata.
Kolkata Mayor and state fire services minister Sovan Chatterjee inaugurated the branch at 738/2, Diamond Harbour Road in presence of Chandra Shekhar Ghosh, the managing director and CEO of Bandhan Bank. Chatterjee, incidentally, hails from Behala.
With this, Bandhan Bank now has 723 bank branches, 2,307 Doorstep Service Centres (DSCs), and 267 ATMs, serving over 09.4 million customers. The bank said in a statement that it has so far mobilised deposits of about Rs 19,000 crore.
The bank, which started operations as a bank in August 2015, has two divisions ~ general banking and micro banking. Bandhan is the first bank set up in eastern India post-Independence.
