Kolkata, 16 September: RESULT of the primary Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) was declared on 14 September and the state education minister has stated that the recruitment of teachers would begin soon.
Amidst this, the West Bengal Board of Primary Education (WBBPE) has set a deadline until 09 November for receiving RTI applications for those desiring to enquire the marks scored by the examinees or secure photocopy of the Optical Marking Recognition sheet.
In a notice, WBBPE secretary R C Bagchi has stated that the RTI applications in this connection would be received at its Salt Lake office on all working days during the stipulated period and no application would be entertained after the set date.
A total of 20,01,031 examinees had appeared for the primary TET held on 11 October last year, and according to state education minister Partha Chatterjee, around 1.40 lakh of them have come out successful.
It is often found that unsuccessful examinees resort to the Right to Information Act to find out if his / her answer sheet was evaluated properly. To shorten the timeframe for this, the primary board has now fixed the deadline for this.
