Malda / Siliguri, 03 April: WITH the apprehension of artificial chicken eggs made of plastic and chemicals having allegedly flooded Bengal, the BJP state president and MLA Dilip Ghosh today said that the move was part of a conspiracy hatched by China against India.

The charge came on a day the Trinamool ruled Malda Municipality imposed an embargo on serving eggs in mid-day meal at schools under its jurisdiction in view of the mass fear over artificial eggs.

Malda Municipality’s chairperson Nihar Ranjan Ghosh said that the embargo would remain in place for seven days from tomorrow until the civic body had got the lab test report on egg samples collected from the town.

“In view of the widespread apprehension over plastic eggs, we have held a meeting with concerned officials today and have decided that eggs should not be served in school mid-day meals for the next seven days. In place of eggs, the 198 primary schools in the civic area have been directed to serve panner or soya beans to children,” he said.

The BJP state president, on the other hand, alleged that as part of a conspiracy against India, China has flooded West Bengal with plastic eggs.

“China has always been exporting inferior and harmful goods and food to India for several years. Plastic egg is only a new addition to this. During last Deepavali, people in Delhi had boycotted Chinese lamps for its anti-India stance. People in Bengal should also resort to similar measures,” Ghosh said talking to news-persons at Dhupgari in Jalpaiguri.
