Kolkata, 24 November: KOLKATA’s Metro Railway has been awarded by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for generating new innovative ideas for improvement of its functioning.
This after Metro Railway submitted 30 new ideas at the Rail Vikas Shivir, a brain storming and idea generation camp for Indian Railways held at Surajkund in Haryana from 18-20 November. All other railway zones and production units too had submitted new ideas for consideration.
Out of the 30 ideas that Metro Railway submitted, 28 ideas were selected by the jury and were patented. This led to Metro Railway winning the second best team award among all railway zones and production units of the Indian Railways.
Subsequent to this, the Prime Minister handed over a trophy to Metro Railway general manager MC Chauhan at the Surajkund on 20 November. Railways minister Suresh Prabhu, his deputy Rajen Gohain, and Railway Board chairman AK Mital were present.
