Kolkata, 11 February: CHIEF Minister Mamata Banerjee today paid a visit to Leader of Opposition Abdul Mannan of the Congress, who is admitted to a private nursing home on EM Bypass.
Mannan (65) had fallen ill on 08 February while resisting the marshals of the state Assembly from forcing him out of the House after he was suspended by Speaker for displaying posters of the 2006 Trinamool vandalism in the Assembly.
Mannan was first admitted to SSKM Hospital and from there he was relocated to a private nursing home on EM Bypass, where doctors implanted a pacemaker on him yesterday.
The Chief Minister, while on her way to state secretariat Nabanna this afternoon, took a detour and went to the nursing home to enquire on the health of the Leader of Opposition.
Sources in the nursing home said that she spent about 10 minutes in Mannan’s cabin and wished him to get well soon. She also spoke to the doctors attending of the Leader of Opposition.
