Kolkata, 28 February: METRO Railway commuters can now book an Ola cab even without having a smart phone or without downloading the mobile app of the company.
Six Metro stations in the city today got dedicated Ola Kiosks to help commuters book Ola cab on arrival. The kiosks are manned by an Ola executive and people can approach them to book a cab to the desired destination.
Within seconds, the commuter will receive a SMS on their featured cell phone (that lacks Internet browsing facility) offering the cab number, driver’s name, and one time password.
Next, the commuter simply needs to step out of the station to board the Ola cab that has been allocated to him. Metro authorities have put up signage to guide the passengers to the nominated area where the Ola cab shall be waiting for commutters and thus, it would negate the chances of confusion both on the part of the commuter and the driver.
Those booking an Ola cab using their smart phone can also find the cab waiting at the same nominated area at each of the six Metro stations. This service is now available at Esplanade, Park Street, Rabindra Sadan, Kalighat, Rabindra Sarobar, and Mahanayak Uttam Kumar (Tollygunge).
Metro and Ola authorities gave plans to extend the facility at all the Metro stations in near future.
