Kolkata, 12 April: METRO Railway will run midnight special trains on the five days on which IPL T-20 cricket matches are scheduled to be played at Eden Gardens in the city.
This is aimed at facilitating easy travel option to the spectators thronging Eden Gardens for the matches.
According to Metro Railway spokesperson, one pair of midnight special trains will be operated on 14, 22, 24 April, and 04 and 14 May. Both the special trains will originate from Esplanade station ~ one towards Dum Dum and the other towards New Garia.
The trains will originate at 12.15 in the midnight and stop at all stations en route. But ticket counters will be operated only at Esplanade Metro station to sell tickets for the special trains.
Like Metro Railway, the South Eastern Railway has also taken initiative to facilitate easy travel option to people coming to Kolkata for the IPL matches.
It has rescheduled the 38455 Howrah-Panskura EMU Local to leave Howrah at 12.15 midnight on 14, 22, 24 April, and 04 and 14 May, instead of 11.35 pm the previous days.
